Early morning is my favorite part of the day. I love the smells, the colors, and the quiet. In my head, it contains the purest moments of the day. The moments that haven’t been given the opportunity to be ruined. The colors this morning were gorgeous and yet it all seems somewhat tainted when your brain actually starts working and you begin to remember. And so the leaning begins all over again. Resting in the promises of Christ. Remembering that all things happen for reason and a part of a plan that is far better than anything we could have planned ourselves.
This morning-and everything other moment of the day, it seems-I repeat this to myself:
“For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.” -Psalm 30:5
I am so thankful for that promise. JOY comes in the morning. I have no idea when that morning will come, but it’s coming. It’s been promised. So,
“In the morning, O LORD, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch.”- Psalm 5:3
I am eagerly watching.
