It was a grueling, week long, Facebook campaign, but we did it! It took a bit longer for these results to come in, but after carefully reviewing the Muscogee County write-in records, with 48 votes, I won the election. I could not have done it without the support of my friends and family-although my mother did forget to write me in-but still, thank you. Your calls, texts, emails, and facebook messages throughout election day letting me know that you had cast your vote for me helped me get through an emotionally draining day of waiting.
It was tough and the competition was fierce. I would like to acknowledge my fellow running mates; State Sen. Seth Harp, Andy Luker, Judge Andy Prather, President Obama, Brad Watts, Brooks Yancey, Bugs Bunny, Cam Newton, Cathy Williams, Brother Love, David Hayes, Darth Vader, Donald Duck, Frank Saunders, Gary Black, Elvis, Eminem, George Bush, Jeff Foxworthy, Jenny Lee Money, Jerry Luquire, Jesus, Jim Pound, Joey Loudermilk, Judy Thomas, Mark Eckman, Mickey Mouse, Mike Jolley, Nathan Deal, Nate Sanderson, Neal Callahan, Paul Olsen, Playol Shippey, Pops Barnes, Randy Robertson, Congress Sanford Bishop, Sarah Palin, Shep Mullin, Smokey the Bear, Ted Nugent, Terry Yarbrough, T-Pain, Walter Calhoun, Zeph Baker, and others.
With all of this in mind, it is with great regret that I decline this great honor of elected office. The position of the Pine Mountain Water and Soil Conservation Director is a non-paying job which requires you to travel the district and test the soil and water of the constituent when asked. At this time, I feel it is in the best interest of the district for me to decline. But I will be forever grateful for the trust given to me by the voters.
