The Best is Yet to Come…

I’ve commented more than once over the past several weeks that I feel that my creative juices are drying up and a small part of me has died because I have not written in so long. But today seemed like the perfect time to recommit and start anew.

Today I am 23 years old. Birthdays seem like a good time to reflect upon the previous year, so today I give you “23 things I’ve learned since LAST April 30th.”

  1. God is Faithful.
  2. I love my life.
  3. Popcorn and a glass of water with LOTS of ice is really the only way to go.
  4. Forgiving isn’t forgetting.
  5. Love must be sincere.
  6. Yard sale ads can be deceiving.
  7. Don’t sweat the small stuff.
  8. The Gospel message is simple.
  9. The definition of a “Home-cooked meal” is defined by the person eating the meal.
  10. Tears shouldn’t be wasted.
  11. We’re promised “joy in the morning”, not a short night.
  12. Being nice takes not once ounce of energy.
  13. Spicy Chicken is awesome, but nothing beats the Original.
  14. There’s a difference between being “agreeable” and being a “pushover.”
  15. There’s a time for everything.
  16. Going to bed angry makes for a sleepless night.
  17. Patience is a virtue that I still need to work on.
  18. Consistency makes the runner.
  19. Unsweetened Tea is good for your health and your soul.
  20. Friday morning CFA Breakfasts are sweet.
  21. Honesty is key.
  22. For every action there is a REaction.
  23. It is well with my soul…
23 isn’t a lot of years, I know. But, ask those who know me best and you’ll know that I’ve managed to cram a good bit in. I’m grateful for another year, the good and the not so good.
Psalm 39:4- Show me, Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days so that I might see how fleeting my life is.
Psalm 90:12- Teach us to number our days, that we might gain a heart of wisdom.
